I recently supported Ceri, who had been a Key Stage 1 Teacher in the UAE. As a British expat teacher of 4 years, she decided that the end of the 2021-22 academic year was her time to leave the classroom. Teaching in the pandemic with the demands placed upon her made her realise that she needed to form her exit plan FAST. We worked together to define her life and career goals, strengths, skills and the exact areas that she needed to work on in her life to be more marketable for a career in a non-educational setting. When it was time to look for roles, we found the perfect role for her. She applied and I coached her through the entire process, from application right through to to interview. As a result, Ceir successfully secured an interview and after our mock interview coaching and mentoring session, and a week later, she found out she had successfully secured the position! She is now back in the UK,  earning £6,000 pounds more per year than she did as an expat teacher in the UAE, plus it will increment each year she’s in the organisation. She is now earning the equivalent of an SLT role, with set hours and she is able to make a difference, this time with adults. I am so delighted for her!
